Nilles is a partner with
Matushek, Nilles & Sinars, L.L.C. and has achieved the highest

civil jury trials and appeals.
Legal
Experience: Mr. Nilles has successfully tried several
matters to verdict in the Circuit Court of Cook County. He has
significant background in the defense of medical malpractice
claims, representing physicians from virtually every area
of practice specialty, providing him with the
ability to effectively deal with
complicated issues of medical causation in questionable personal
injury cases. He has defended clients in cases involving product
liability, aviation law and air crashes, nursing home negligence,
construction liability, asbestos personal injury and other casualty
claims.
Dave Nilles has frequently obtained summary
judgments on behalf of construction contractors, physicians,
product manufacturers and distributors, professional corporations
and property owners in cases involving serious injury and wrongful
death. Where the interests of both the insured and insurer have so
dictated, he has quickly obtained diminutive settlements in a
cost-effective manner.
Mr. Nilles was involved in reaching successful
appellate results in Sanke v. Bechina, 216 Ill.App.3d 962
(2nd Dist. 1991) (first case in Illinois to definitively extend
potential liability to a passenger in Illinois based on concert of
action in an automobile setting) and in Green v. Heron, 263
Ill.App.3d 602 (1st Dist. 1994) (dismissal of a physician with
prejudice based on the plaintiff's failure to procure timely
service of process under Supreme Court Rule 103(b)).
Professional Memberships: Mr.
Nilles is a member of the Chicago Bar Association, the Illinois
State Bar Association, Illinois Association of Defense Trial
Counsel and the Defense Research Institute.
Publications and Lectures: Mr.
Nilles is a coauthor of the chapter entitled "New Parties" in the
treatise Illinois Civil Practice, 2003, published by the
Illinois Institute for Continuing Legal Education. He also
co-authored "No Vested Right to Nursing Home Treble Damages,"
published in the Illinois Defense Counsel Quarterly, Vol. 9,
1999. He was also a lecturer at the Illinois Defense Counsel
seminar on Professional Liability Coverages and
Defenses.
Education: Mr. Nilles completed
his undergraduate studies at the University of Illinois in 1986,
where he obtained a Bachelor of Science in Journalism. He received
his Juris Doctor in 1989 from The John Marshall Law School in
Chicago.
Admitted to Practice: Mr. Nilles
is admitted to practice before the Illinois Supreme Court, the
United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois,
and the United States District Court for the Northern District of
Indiana. He has also been admitted pro hac vice in cases in
Indiana.
