C. Matt Alva is an associate with Matushek, Nilles & Sinars, L.L.C. He concentrates his practice on product liability, and toxic tort claims. Much of his practice involves asbestos litigation.
Legal Experience: Mr. Alva has defended toxic tort and product liability cases throughout the State of Illinois.
Professional Associations: Mr. Alva is a member of the American Bar Association and the Chicago Bar Association. Matt currently serves as co-chair of the JD Mentors program with the Hispanic Lawyers Association of Illinois. Additionally, Matt is head of marketing and communications for the ABA's Judicial Intern Opportunity Program (JIOP), which helps minority students find placements with federal and state judges throughout the United States.
Education: Matt Alva earned his Juris Doctor from Chicago-Kent College of Law, where he was President of the Hispanic-Latino Law Student Association, and he received the CALI Award for the highest grade in Constitutional History. Mr. Alva received his undergraduate degree, Bachelor of Arts in History, from the University of Illinois in Urbana in 2005.
